College Offers Updates: Week of April 12th

This past week was another full slate of college offers for recruits in the DMV area. With many recruits receiving a bevy of offers from a variety of programs. Some college offers in terms of specific schools were more common than others. Though these young players all were very ecstatic to announce these offers throughout the week. This flood of college offers just added to one of the busier weeks in terms of recruiting updates in the area this year so far. This piece will look to present which players received offers and how many. While detailing which specific schools presented offers.

            The first player to mention is Wayne Matthews of Charles Herbert Flowers. Matthews received his 5th college offer this past week from Bryant University. This 1st Team All-County Linebacker continues to build a solid list of interested schools.

            The next player is Archbishop Spalding Austin Tutas who received two new offers this past week. These schools being Columbia University and University of Pennsylvania. This talented Class of 2021 QB continues to make moves on the recruiting landscape.

            St. John’s offensive tackle Kyrik Mason continues to rack up the college offers. The most recent pair of offers he’s received being from Bryant University and Howard University. This 6’4” 280 lbs. Tackle will continue to be a wanted commodity among Class of 2021 Lineman.

            Wide Receiver Jaden Coffen had another busy week in terms of accumulating offers. The St. Albans product received 4 offers recently from Long Island University, Howard, The University of Rhode Island, and Towson. Providing him more options that give a choice to stay close to home or move on to a new state. Either way Coffen continues to generate much interest from college programs.

            Trey Jamison a defensive back from Gonzaga received 5 new offers this past week. These schools include Georgetown, Appalachian State, the United States Military Academy, Fordham, and Lehigh. This puts him as having one of the largest sums of new offers this past week for recruits in the DMV area.

            Mount Saint Joseph Corner Dashawn Jones received a new offer this past week from Bryant University. While Landon School Corner Chantz Harley received two new offers from Columbia University and the University of New Hampshire.

            Linebacker Eric Ford and teammate at Landon school with Chantz Harley also was presented a new offer. This coming from Army which is a prestigious school to be honored to get an offer from.

            Our Lady of Good Counsel Defensive Back Jaylen Dotson received a new offer from Monmouth University. While Demarco Cuffey of North Point High school got an offer from the University of New Hampshire. This gives him now 4 official offers from college programs.

            Then Amari Hutson of Wilde Lake High school received an offer from Long Island University. This being his first official D1 offer. As for Miles Cross a wide receiver for Good Counsel, he received 4 new offers this past week. Being from the University of Massachusetts, New Mexico. Rhode Island, and Yale University.

            Then finally Aaron Turner who plays receiver and running back for Gonzaga High School got 4 new offers. The schools include Rhode Island, Albany, Connecticut, and Towson. While Outside Linebacker Terrance Butler Jr. received 3 new offers. The programs he got them from were Syracuse, UNC Charlotte, and Liberty University.

            This was certainly a busy week for certain with far more to report in terms of offers given out. It would be tough to present them all. Though these give you a pretty good view of how much talent the DMV in producing on the High School football scene.
