Here are some recent news and notes on the DMV Area High School Football scene from this past week. Including things such as college visits by recruits, Camp Invites, and Top 5 School announcements.

The first bit of information to share is the recruits who had recent college visits to programs interested in their services. These players include Khari Butler of Oaks Christian High School who visited USC this past weekend. Also, there is Jamir Roberts who went Lafayette College for Junior Day. As well as, Greg Penn III of Dematha who visited South Carolina, Tristian Leigh who visited the University of Virginia, and Mattheus Carroll of Dematha who visited Virginia Tech.

There was also a young recruit who announced his top 5 schools over Twitter this past week. As 3-star recruit as per Rivals.com, Jalen Clyatt gave his current top five schools he is interested in. These schools were Liberty, Pittsburgh, East Carolina, Maryland, and Rutgers. This a very diverse and intriguing list for the Sherwood product. Now only time will tell if this list changes or narrow as he goes into his Senior season.

Offensive lineman prospect Lliam Horrocks received a recent camp invite from the University of Notre Dame. Always a great honor for a school to want a recruit back to evaluate him on their campus. Which means his visit to Notre Dame went very well also.

The next set of notes have to do with the Under Armor All-American Camp. As a bevy of recruits out of the area were given invites this past week. The names include Bryce Butler of St. John’s, Jalen Clyatt of Sherwood, Kyrik Mason of St. John’s, William Simpkins of Quince Orchard.

As well as, Nigel Tate of Bullis High School, Kevin Winston Jr. of Dematha, Lamar Patterson of St. Frances Academy, Mattheus Carroll of Gilman, and Zakee Wheatley of Archbishop Spalding. A truly talented and stacked list of some of the best and most gifted players out of the DMV area.

There is your official up date on some of the happenings in on the High School football scene in the area.
