This past week there was yet another top/first schools’ announcement by a recruit in the area. This recruit being Miles Cross of Good Counsel High School who revealed his current first 10 schools on his social media. The 3-star Wide Receiver recruit with all his skill and physical tools at the position is a great asset to attain. A talent any of the schools he revealed would be very fortunate to have. This piece will look to present the 10 schools Miles Cross has currently on his radar. Providing an analysis of each one and determining the chances may have of land the receiver prospect.

The 10 schools Cross presented were West Virginia, Buffalo, Towson, East Carolina, Liberty, Morgan State, University of Pennsylvania, Monmouth, Sacred Heart, and Ohio University. An interesting and diverse list of schools to choose from for the young pass catcher.

In West Virginia this is the highest profile D1 school of his 10. As they are apart of the Big 12 which is one of the Power 5 Conferences inf the FBS. This school would provide a great opportunity for Cross as he would get to play on the big stage every week. Also, in a league where offense is at the forefront the chance to possibly put up big receiving numbers would exist. Then with competition like Oklahoma, Baylor, and others to compete against each year he would get to test his mettle against some of the top prospects in the Country. Having a chance to better his game versus elite competition and be prepared to face the challenges down the road in the NFL possibly.

With Townson this University provides a closer to home option for Cross. As with the school located in Towson, Maryland he would be able to go to school. While being close to family if he prefers that option. They are also a school in a subdivision of Division 1 as part of Division 1 FCS. This school may not get the exposure like other big-name schools. But he could get possibly more of an opportunity to play right away if he considers this program.

As for Schools like Liberty Monmouth, Sacred Heart, Ohio and Penn these are schools that are apart of subdivisions of Division 1 as well. They are lesser heralded football programs in some instances, but all have produced talented prospects. Each school does present the decision to move further away from home which may be key in Cross’ choice. With some of the exposure and success Sacred Heart and Liberty have enjoyed especially in recent years within their programs these may truly be enticing choices.

Then the last three school to mention are Morgan State, Buffalo, and East Carolina. These three are key to consider because these schools have produced major NFL prospects. With Buffalo producing NFL superstar Khalil Mack, Morgan State players like Joshua Miles and Visanthe Shiancoe. As well as, East Carolina with players that include Earnest Byner, David Garrard, Chris Johnson, and Zay Jones these schools have produced some notable NFL names. Which could be alluring for Cross to want to be the next player to make the league from these schools. As it shows you do not need to come from a power 5 conference to make the league. Maybe one of these schools could still be his opportunity to further his football aspirations.

The decision still is to be determined where this talented pass catcher will. Plus, once his senior year begins and his production comes about more school could find interest in his services. His offers could increase, and his list could change a lot from what it is now as he narrows it down. The good thing is he has options and now scouts, and recruiters can only wonder where he will go and what are his top choices.
