SEN Player Ratings and Rankings
SEN PLAYER RATINGS AND RANKINGS
Bi-annually, SEN’s Scouter Committee evaluates football talent across the nation. Ranging from 7th to 12th grade, information on each individual player is gathered, sorted and then assigned a SEN RATING and RANKING. While there is a top 100, SEN continues to rate every prospect at any given position.
Players are continuously developing and rankings are revisited for reevaluation. SEN does not rate players based on college offers.
Player data is compiled through three main sources: game film, live game study, and camps/combines. Within those sources, they are graded based on size, speed, talent, and current skill set. When broken down, SEN rates a player based on 80% Game Film and Highlights and 20% Measurables.
The SEN RATING SCALE ranges from 0 – 1000. There are 10 CATEGORIES that are used to evaluate a player’s rating. Each star category is worth 100 points. The 10 categories are key skills that scouters and coaches look for in a player for that specific position. While HEIGHT and WEIGHT will always be a part of the 10 categories, the 8 other categories change based on the different skill sets required for each position.
900 – 1000 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A player Division 1 ready, with the ability to play immediately at almost any program, given there isn’t an established player at their position.
800 – 899 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A player with the ability to play immediately for a mid-level Division 1 program. At bigger schools, this player could play special teams or red shirt in their first season.
700 – 799 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A player that will red shirt for top tier schools and mid-level Division 1 programs. This player could contribute at a lower Division 1 program or start at a Division 1 – AA program.
600 – 699 – ⭐️⭐️ – A player that will red shirt at a low tier Division 1 program but will contribute to a Division 1 – AA program.
500 – 599 – ⭐️ – This player will red shirt at a Division 1 – AA program.
0 – 499 – NR – Not Rated or not enough informational sources.
A SEN RANK is a listed number given by SEN’s Scouting Committee based on a player’s RATING.
A player’s rating is the foundation of a player’s SEN RANK. For example: If a player is rated 989, he will automatically be ranked higher than a player who is rated 988.
